[A distressed sigh escapes Regis as he leans against his chair. The King is at his desk looking over papers of this ridiculous ploy by the Senate to force his decision in regards to immigration. It comes as no surprise that the war has forced many refugees hailing from Galahd towards their borders. While Regis welcomes them all with open arms, he cannot help but grumble as the Senate finds new ways to turn them away. He knew his fellow Lucians were too patriotic but such foolishness makes him want to curse.]
I shan’t back down from this issue.
[He murmurs as he pushes away from his desk and stands. Perhaps a quick sip of bourbon will help calm his frayed nerves. It's already after midnight and not a single soul stirs except for the guards and him.]
I'll make them pay for such transgressions at first light--[Regis suddenly trails off once a knock at the door interrupts his thoughts.]
Now, who could it be at this hour?
